Torq 2011 - 2017
In September of 2011, K9 “Torq” became Cottage Grove Police Department’s newest Police Service Dog. His first night on patrol was September 19th, 2011 with Cottage Grove Police Department Patrol K9 Handler, Officer Chris Joyce.
K9 Torq is a Dutch Shepherd. He was born on February 21st, 2008 and is originally from The Netherlands, where he was born, raised, and subsequently received his initial training. K9 Torq successfully achieved KNPV (Royal Dutch Police Dog Association) certification in The Netherlands. K9 Torq was purchased through Adlerhost International in Riverside, California. K9 Torq and Officer Joyce successfully completed their Basic Police Canine training, from J.R. Frost (Retired Eugene Police/K9 Officer) before beginning their patrol career together.
After sustaining an injury in late 2017, K9 Torq was retired from duty. He now fills his days with naps, camping trips and fun with Sgt. Joyce and his family. Thank you for your service, buddy!
