Historic Preservation Commission
The Historic Preservation Commission is a seven-member City Council appointed body that reviews applications for alteration or destruction of historic landmarks within the City of Cottage Grove. They also assist staff in developing an annual work plan aimed at fostering and furthering historic preservation in the City of Cottage Grove. Members serve a three-year term of appointment, and meet on an as-needed basis. The City Council makes every effort to appoint persons with experience in historic preservation, architectural history, history or a related field.
Steve Kleiner, Chair Appointed January 13, 2020. Reappointed June 12, 2023. Term will expire on December 31, 2026.
Tara Sue Hughart, Vice Chair Appointed November 23, 2015 and reappointed on January 14, 2019, and again on March 28, 2022. Term will expire on December 31, 2024.
Chester Turner, Commissioner Appointed January 25, 2021. Term will expire on December 31, 2023.
William Christiansen, Commissioner Appointed March 28, 2022. Term will expire on December 31, 2024.
Debra Monsive, Commissioner Appointed January 25, 2021. Term will expire on December 31, 2023.
Rick Hazeltine, Commissioner Appointed June 12, 2023. Term will expire on December 31, 2026.
