Cottage Grove Public Library
Summer 2019

Cottage Grove High School incoming juniors, seniors, or college freshman students (from the Cottage Grove area) are encouraged to apply for a PAID Summer Internship at the Cottage Grove Public Library. This opportunity is part of the Inclusive Internship Initiative, a program of the Public Library Association, a division of the American Library Association.  The Cottage Grove Public Library was selected by ALA, through a competitive process, to participate in this program and receive funding for a Summer Intern. 

Internship Details:

  • Rate of pay will be minimum wage, $11.25 per hour; approximately 20 hours work per week.
  • Intern should be from a background representing the diversity of the local community (Spanish speaking required)
  • -Intern must be able to attend a kick-off event, June 13-15, 2019, in Chicago, IL and a wrap-up event in Washington D.C., September 20-22, 2019. All travel and lodging will be arranged and paid by ALA.
  • -The Inclusive Internship Initiative program will utilize concepts of “Connected Learning”, which combines personal interests, supportive relationships, and real-world opportunities.
