Friday Update

April 19, 2024

Wood Chips Update
At this time the City has stopped taking requests for wood chip deliveries. There currently is a long list of requests that staff believes once filled will have exhausted the supply of chips to give away. Thank you to everyone that has had a home and used the chips. This has been great for the City as the commercial market for chips has been flooded with chips and there has been a limit on what companies would take.

N. River Road Chip Seal Award
The City received the 2023 Excellence in Contracting Award from the Western Regional Association for Pavement Preservation for the N. River Road scrub and chip seal project. Sierra Santa Fe Corporation was the contractor that performed the work. They have performed chip seals the last 4 years for the City. They have done an excellent job rehabilitating and extending the life of the City streets.

Annual Tree Branch Pick-Up
The City has scheduled the annual City wide limb and tree branch pick-up for the week of May 20th. This will be an opportunity for City residents to get rid of any remaining storm damaged limbs and branches. Please go to Tree Branch Pickup Program | Cottage Grove Oregon for instructions on how and where to pile your branches for pick-up.

Community Plastics Collection
Cottage Grove Library and Community Center will be hosting a plastics collection on Saturday April 27th, 10:30 am - 2:00 pm. For the latest guidelines regarding plastics recycling in Lane County, please contact plasticrecycleberkeleypark@gmail.com.

Quote of the Week:
