I am honored to serve as your Police Chief and to lead the dedicated men and women of the Cottage Grove Police Department. Our mission is to protect and serve the community with integrity, professionalism, respect, and a commitment to community well-being.

The Cottage Grove Police Department consists of;

  • Chief of Police
  • 2 Police Captains (Operations and Administrative)
  • 3 Police Sergeants (2 vacancies)
  • 13 Police Officers (2 vacancies)
  • Reserve Police Officers
  • Community Service Officer
  • Chaplain

In addition there are 6 full-time Communications Specialists (2 vacancies) who provide 24-hour Police dispatch and 911 Call Taking for Fire and Emergency Medical Services.  

There are also 2 Records & Evidence Coordinators and 1 Administrative Assistant.

The department also maintains 2 holding cells for temporary housing of persons in custody on non-criminal charges such as detoxification or who are waiting to be transferred to other correctional facilities.

The Police Department is also home to South Lane 911, a 24-hour Public Safety Answering Point responsible for dispatching Police as well as 911 Call Taking for Fire and Emergency Medical Services throughout a 900 square mile area. The Cottage Grove Police are dispatched within the city limits, with the surrounding county area served by The Lane County Sheriff’s Office and Oregon State Police.
