Budget Committee Member Recruitment
The City is seeking applications for two open position on the Cottage Grove Budget Committee.  The positions open are for three year terms expiring December 31, 2014.  The deadline for submitting application is 5:00pm on January 25, 2012.  Applicants may be interviewed by City Council members.  Selected applicants may be appointed by the City Council.  Applications forms are available online or during regular business hours in the City Manager's office in City Hall, 400 East Main Street. 

The Budget Committee reviews the City's financial plans and policies, including the annual budget.  The 14 member Committee is comprised of the Mayor and six elected City Councilors and seven members of the community who are appointed by the City Council.  Each of the Committee's seven community members must live in the City limits.  Budget Committee meetings are typically held between April and June each year.  The Committee may also meet on an "as needed" basis.  For more information contact Roberta Olsen, Finance Director at (541)942-3346.

Vision Keepers Committee Recruitment
The City is seeking applications for the Vision Keepers Committee the remaining serve the remaining year of the unexpired term of an “at-large” member of the committee.  Applicants will be interviewed by a committee of the City Council and then confirmed by the Cottage Grove City Council.  The role of the Vision Keepers is to monitor progress of the Cottage Grove 2037 Vision Action Plan, encourage implementation of actions, provide technical assistance or support where appropriate, produce annual progress reports, and recommend minor modifications to the plan as necessary. The Vision Keepers will hold quarterly team progress meetings, and will develop annual awards to recognize individuals or organizations for exceptional service toward promoting achievement of the Cottage Grove 2037 Action Plan.  Applications are available at City Hall or online and must be returned by 5:00 pm, Friday, February 3, 2012: Teresa Cowan, Community Coordinator, 700 Gibbs Avenue.  For more information contact Teresa Cowan at (541)942-1185
