About Us
The Community Development Department coordinates emergency management operations in the City of Cottage Grove. In the event of an emergency, the Community Development Department will coordinate between responsible local and regional agencies, including:

• City of Cottage Grove Police Department
• South Lane County Fire and Rescue District
• City of Cottage Grove Public Works Department
• Lane County Emergency Management
• South Lane School District
• The local Red Cross chapter
• Local utilities and other agencies.

The City's Emergency Operations Plan establishes the parameters for this coordination.

Emergency Operations Plan
The City of Cottage Grove Emergency Operations Plan identifies various hazards which may impact Cottage Grove and the prevention, mitigation, response and recovery procedures the City would follow in an emergency. The procedures outlined in this plan are designed to enhance the protection of lives, property and the environment through effective use of City and community resources.  The basic plan with annexes is designed to identify responsibilities and basic functions of the City of Cottage Grove and cooperating agencies, using the Incident Command System.
