Rural Housing Rehabilitation Program

The City of Cottage Grove is a charter member of the Rural Housing Rehabilitation Program along with the Oakridge, Lowell and Lane County as of 2001.  Since then, the cities of Westfir, Florence, Junction City, Veneta, and Creswell have become members of the consortium.  The purpose of the consortium is to administer Community Development Block Grants (CDBG) to members by a qualified non-profit.  The Lane County program is administered by St. Vincent dePaul of Lane County.

The Goals are To:
  • Alleviate health and safety problems and correct structural deficiencies in target area homes.
  • Conserve and improve existing low income housing stock.
  • Increase housing opportunities for low and moderate income households.
  • Enable lower income residents in target areas to remain in their homes.
Assisting homeowners with health and safety repairs

The Rural Housing Rehabilitation Program is a home repair program that benefits people living in small cities and unincorporated areas of Lane County. The program serves homeowners with household incomes at or below 80% of the federal median income.  If you own or are buying your home & land, you may qualify for a 3% interest, “no monthly payment” loan with this program.

Eligibility
  • Applicants must occupy and own the home and land to be rehabilitated.
  • The property must be within a target area served by the current grant.
  • The property must meet minimum standards and have clear title.
  • Applicants must meet household size and income guidelines.

  • roofs
  • foundations
  • dry rot
  • plumbing
  • electrical
  • heating
  • systems
  • windows & doors
  • insulation
  • siding
  • paint
  • et cetera
