Registering a Complaint

We often find that people are unaware they may be violating a City code or causing concern to neighbors. You may be able to resolve your concern by talking directly with the person responsible. If you are unable to resolve your concern, please feel free to register a compliant with our office.

To register a complaint regarding zoning and nuisance violations, visit us at 400 E. Main Street, call the Public Works & Development Department at (541) 942-3340 or email planning@cottagegrove.org. To register a written complaint, we will need your name, address, daytime telephone number, the address of the property where the problem is occurring, and a detailed description of the problem. Anonymous complaints are accepted if requested when you first contact us.

A digital version of the complaint form can be found below, which can be filled out and brought to City Hall or emailed to code@cottagegrove.orgNote: Anonymous complaints must be made over phone calls. Any emailed complaints will provided the code enforcement officer with your information.

After a complaint is filed, the City will verify if there is a violation of the code. If so, the City will conduct a field investigation and then contact the responsible party to gain compliance.
